Volunteer Opportunities

As a non-profit organization dedicated to the recognition, investigation, and preservation of archaeological resources in Ontario we appreciate the support of volunteers to help us carrying out the activities that allow us to archive these goals.

Volunteers contribute significantly to the Foundation’s success helping all aspects of the Centre run smoothly from serving on our Board of Directors to keeping the curation of our artifact collection up to date. Volunteer opportunities with the Foundation include helping us in our Artifact Processing Lab, Interpretive Centre, Education department, Library & Archives, and with special events.

How to become involved:

Volunteering with the Cataraqui Archaeological Research Foundation is organizated on a project basis, below you will find a complete listing of the volunteer opportunities we currently have available.  This list is regularly updated so please check back frequently for new opportunities.

Each position is listed with an approximate time commitment and can be combined with any other position depending on availability and scheduling. 

Scheduling is done based on the position, some positions have specific time requirements, such as events, while others are fairly flexible based on the availability of staff and equipment at the Centre.   Volunteering is scheduled Monday – Friday, between the hours of 9:30 – 12:30 and 1:30 – 4:00. 

To become involved with the Foundation follow the steps below:

1. Select a position you are interested in assisting with
2. Identify a day and time in your schedule that you would like to volunteer
3. Apply/sign-up based on the instructions for each position
   
   
4. A Orientation to the Centre and the position you have selected will be scheduled for you
5. Start your volunteering!
